These are the questions owners actually ask us, usually in the first five minutes of a call. The answers are short because the questions are fair.

Frequently asked questions

What does Trades.Solutions actually do?

We diagnose and fix four common marketing problems for Canadian trades businesses: not enough leads, bad leads, no reviews and no time. We are a marketing and business consulting service, not a contractor, and we never install, repair or service anything.

How much does it cost?

Plans start at $1,999 per month, or $1,499 per month billed annually, with Elite at $3,999 ($2,999 annually) and Enterprise at $7,999 ($5,999 annually). All prices are in Canadian dollars, plus GST/HST for your province.

Am I locked into a contract?

No. Every plan runs month to month; give 30 days' notice and you're out. Annual billing is optional and simply lowers the monthly price.

How long before I see results?

It depends on the problem. Leak fixes such as call handling and Google profile corrections can show within weeks; review flow builds over a season; organic search takes months. We tell you the expected timeline for your fix before starting.

We tried an agency before and it didn't work. Why would this be different?

Often the last agency sold a product, such as ads or a website, without checking whether it addressed your real problem. We start with your numbers, fix one problem at a time and report on jobs won, so you can see what each fix did. If we can't find a problem worth fixing, we will tell you.

Who owns the website and accounts?

You do. Your domain, website, Google Business Profile and ad accounts stay in your name, with us added as managers. If you leave, you keep everything.

What do your monthly reports show?

Enquiries received, enquiries that reached a person, quotes, jobs won and cost per won job by source, plus review counts for review work. Clicks and impressions appear only as supporting detail.

Can you promise a number of leads?

No. Anyone promising a fixed number of leads either doesn't know your market or is selling low-quality leads. We show the arithmetic behind the plan and measure it openly each month.

Do you work with my trade?

We work with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, roofing, renovation, landscaping and other trades and home-service businesses. Our published results are from HVAC work, and we say so.

Do you work in my province?

Yes. We work in all 10 provinces and 3 territories, from our base in Vancouver. Each region page covers how the four problems show up locally.

What do I need to prepare for the first call?

Four numbers from last month if you have them: enquiries, enquiries answered, quotes and jobs won. Plus your average job value and the symptom that bothers you most. Rough numbers are fine.

Do you sell shared leads?

No. We help you generate enquiries that come directly to your business, and we can help you measure whether any lead-sharing platform you already use is worth its cost.

Money and contracts

Answer first: plans run month-to-month from $1,999, with 30 days' notice to cancel and no long-term contract. The full table, including annual billing, is on the pricing page.

The question behind the price question is usually "will this pay for itself?" The honest answer is that it depends on how much your problem costs you now. A problem worth $500 a month doesn't justify a $2,000 plan. A missed-call leak worth $6,000 a month usually does. We help you do that sum before you spend anything.

Results and timelines

Answer first: different problems fix at different speeds, and we tell you which speed to expect before starting.

  • Fast (weeks): call answering, missed-call text-back, Google profile corrections, ad search-term clean-up.
  • Medium (one season): review flow, website filtering, source scoring.
  • Slow (months): organic search rankings and content.

Every claim we make about results is backed by a named, live client site from our HVAC work, explained on the results page.

If an agency let you down before

Answer first: that experience is common, and it usually comes from buying a solution before anyone diagnosed the problem.

A few questions to ask any agency, including us:

  1. What exactly do you think my problem is, and what number shows it?
  2. What will you measure each month, and will it include jobs won?
  3. Who owns the accounts if we part ways?
  4. What happens in month two if month one doesn't work?

If the answers are vague, keep looking. Our own approach to those questions is on the about page.

Ownership, access and leaving

Answer first: everything we build or manage stays in your name, so leaving costs you nothing but the notice period.

Owners who have been burned before usually ask this question second, right after price. It is the right instinct. Before you sign with anyone, check these four things:

  • Domain: registered to your business, with you holding the registrar login.
  • Website: hosted in an account you can access, or with a clear hand-over process written down.
  • Google Business Profile: you as the primary owner; the agency added as a manager.
  • Ad accounts: billed to your card and owned by your business, with the agency given access.

If an agency resists any of these, treat that as the answer to whether you can leave cleanly. With us, the only thing you lose when you go is the weekly work.

Reporting you can actually read

Answer first: the monthly report fits on one page and starts with jobs, not clicks.

It opens with the four numbers from the self-diagnosis guide: enquiries, enquiries answered, quotes and jobs won. Then it shows cost per won job by source, review count and rating, and a short note on what changed and why. If a number moved the wrong way, the note says so and says what we're doing about it. Charts of impressions and clicks sit at the back of the report for anyone who still wants them.

Working with us day to day

Answer first: expect about 30 minutes a week of your time after the first month, plus a monthly review call.

You will send job photos, answer a few questions and approve anything that changes what the business promises customers. Everything else runs without you. The no-time fix explains the split between what we do and what stays with the owner. For how to reach us and what to put in your first message, see the contact page.
