Trades.Solutions

About Trades.Solutions: diagnosis before prescription

Trades.Solutions exists because most trades owners are sold a product when what they need is a diagnosis. We are a Canadian marketing and business consulting service, part of the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group, led by Ali Sedighi, MBA.

Trades.Solutions is a Canadian digital marketing and business consulting service for trades and home-service businesses. It is built on one idea: name the problem before you spend money fixing it. Most owners come to us after paying for something, a website or an ad campaign, that solved a problem they didn't have.

The company

Answer first: Trades.Solutions is part of the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group of companies, headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, and serving clients across Canada.

Sedighi.ca is Ali's own consulting company, covering growth, marketing and technology, and it runs several brands: HVAC.Agency, HVAC.Digital, Trades.Agency, BusinessConsulting.ca and Conv.ca. SAZ.ca (Strategy & Acceleration Zone) is the group's Canadian strategy firm, focused on AI and revenue acceleration; Ali founded it too. Trades.Solutions sits inside that group as the problem-first way in for trades owners: you describe the symptom, and we work out which fix it needs.

We are not a contractor. We never install, repair or service equipment, never bid on trade work and never compete with our clients. Our job is to fix the way your business attracts, filters and wins customers.

Ali Sedighi, MBA

Ali Sedighi leads the work. His MBA is in Technology Management. He started in digital marketing in 2007 by founding ONE.ir, a full-service agency, so his experience now spans 17+ years. He now lives and works in Vancouver.

Since then he has started Conv.ca (a conversion-rate optimisation agency) and MyAutomation.ca, and he is Founder & Managing Partner of SAZ.ca. He has worked with clients in Canada, the USA and Dubai, and has built 150+ live HVAC websites. That background matters for this site's approach: conversion work teaches you to look at where people drop out of a process before adding more people to the top of it, and automation work teaches you which tasks never needed a person.

How we work

Every engagement follows the same four stages, whatever the problem turns out to be.

  1. Symptom. You tell us what hurts, in your own words. We write it down exactly as you say it, because it becomes the test for whether the fix worked.
  2. Diagnosis. We look at the numbers behind the symptom: calls, answer rate, quotes, close rate, job value, review count, lead sources and owner hours. This usually takes a free consultation and a short audit.
  3. One fix. We pick the fix with the largest monthly dollar value and do that first, with a written scope and a measure of success.
  4. Re-check. After the fix has had time to work, we look at the numbers again. Often the original symptom is gone and a different one is now the biggest. Then we move to that one.

The method is deliberately narrow. It is slower to sell than a bundle, and owners sometimes want everything at once. But fixing one thing at a time makes it possible to see what each fix did, which is the only way to know what your money bought.

What we believe about trades marketing

  • Most problems are visible in four numbers. Enquiries, enquiries answered, quotes and jobs won.
  • The phone is part of marketing. A missed call costs the same as an ad that never ran.
  • Honest reviews beat clever ones. A routine ask on every job outperforms any shortcut, and shortcuts carry legal and platform risk.
  • The owner's time is the scarcest input. A plan that needs ten owner hours a week will fail by month three.
  • You should own everything. Your website, domain, Google profile and ad accounts stay in your name.

Where we work and how to reach us

We work with trades businesses in every province and territory; the areas page shows how each of the four problems shows up in different parts of Canada. See the services overview for the four fixes, the results page for what our HVAC work has produced, and the contact page for how to reach a senior strategist by call, text or email.

Frequently asked questions

Who owns Trades.Solutions?

The Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group of companies owns it; the group is Canadian and based in Vancouver, British Columbia. The work is led by Ali Sedighi, MBA, whose consulting company is Sedighi.ca and who is Founder & Managing Partner of SAZ.ca.

How does Trades.Solutions relate to Trades.Agency?

Trades.Agency is the group's agency brand for trades businesses, and its plans and prices apply here. Trades.Solutions is the problem-first entry point: we start from your symptom rather than a service menu.

Do you do any trade work?

No. We aren't contractors, and no one here installs, repairs or services equipment. Our work is marketing and business consulting for the companies that do.

Do you work only with HVAC companies?

No. Our published results come from HVAC work, which is where the method was built, but we work with plumbing, electrical, roofing, renovation and other trades businesses across Canada.
